Recently, Enagic has started to recall many Leveluk water ionizers to retrofit them with a new filter bed, so that the machine will not be able to accept non-Enagic replacement filter cartridges. We believe that this move is only intended to restrict the use of any other filter, and effectively force you the consumer to buy filters from only Enagic. It's like Ford Motor company saying you can only use our tires on your car, and then jack up the price of their tires. There is absolutely no other reason for them doing this. Also, if you have sent your machine into Enagic for any reason during this year (2011) check to see if they changed the filter base in your machine before placing your order. Otherwise, the filters listed on this page will work in your Leveluk brand machine. Our USA manufacturer, has already started to design filters to fit the new filter base being installed by Enagic, and we will soon have those filters available. 	Simply use the cleaning cartridge once every 3-6 months to keep your ionizer at optimum performance or more frequently depending on your source water quality. This filter is a special blessing for anyone with an older water ionizer such as the Pure Porte II. It represents an effective way to clean the inside of your water ionizer. However sometimes your system might still need to be professionally cleaned. If you think your system needs to be professionally cleaned we have made it simple for you. Cleaning Cartridge Instructions

 

Clean the unit every 3~6 months, especially:

1. If you find small white particles mixed in with the KANGAN water.

2. When the pH level fails to vary in accordance with the unit’s setting, as measured by pH indicator liquid.

3. When KANGAN water comes out sparingly, stops, or when drops of white liquid appear after using the unit.

 

Caution: Be certain to shut off the faucet and turn off the unit before beginning cleaning. Be certain to unplug the unit before beginning. Failure to do so could result in serious damage.

Please turn OFF a power supply and cleaning it.

1. Remove the main unit’s water filter cover, unscrew the water filter holder, and remove the water filter

2. Insert the cleaning cartridge and secure with the water filter holder.

3. Plug the end of the grey (exit) hose with the red stopper.

4. Bend the white flexible pipe up so that it is higher than the main unit.

5. Turn on just enough water so that it drips from the end of the white flexible pipe. After running for about one minute, turn off the water and let the unit sit for approximately one hour. 

6. Return white flexible pipe to its original position and unstop the grey hose by removing the red stopper.

7. Turn the water on and let run for 5-10 minutes.

8. Turn off the water and in the same order as (1) (2), replace the cleaning cartridge with the water filter and run water for 1-3 minutes.

9. Replace the water filter cover, plug the unit back in, and cleaning is finished.

10. After cleaning, there is a chance that some calcium could appear in the water. In such a case, please discard that water.

The citric acid being used in this cartridge is a common food additive, and poses no health risks.

Caution: The cleaning cartridge can only be used once. A new cleaning cartridge must be used once. A new cleaning cartridge must be used each time cleaning is conducted.
